  1. Service Quality Is No Longer Enough and the Role of Digital Engagement in Tourist Loyalty

Irra Chrisyanti Dewi, Sungguh Ponten Pranata, Andina Febri Pramesti

2026Jurnal Aplikasi Manajemen0 citations Open access

Tourist loyalty has become increasingly complex in the digital era, as travel experiences are no longer shaped solely by on-site encounters but also by sustained interaction through social media. Understanding how experiential and digital factors jointly influence loyalty is therefore critical for contemporary tourism studies. This study examines the effects of service quality, destination image, and perceived value on tourist loyalty and investigates the moderating role of social media engagement. This study adopts a quantitative explanatory design using a survey method. The population comprises tourists visiting Taman Nasional Bromo Tengger Semeru, with respondents selected through purposive sampling based on prior visitation and exposure to destination-related social media. A total of 250 valid responses were collected in December 2025. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling to assess direct effects and moderating relationships among the constructs. The results indicate that tourist loyalty is primarily influenced by perceived value and destination image, while social media engagement plays a meaningful role in strengthening tourists’ ongoing attachment to the destination. In contrast, service quality alone appears insufficient to sustain loyalty in a digitally mediated tourism environment. The findings further suggest that digital engagement reshapes the influence of traditional experiential drivers rather than uniformly reinforcing them, signaling a shift in the underlying logic of loyalty formation.

2026Jurnal Aplikasi Manajemen0 citations Open access

The rapid expansion of multicultural workforces across Southeast Asia, combined with heightened expectations of fairness and inclusion, has intensified the strategic importance of diversity management competency for organizational competitiveness. Firms across the region now face the challenge of converting diversity practices into inclusive internal conditions that support high performance. This study examines the direct influence of diversity management competency on firm performance and analyzes the mediating roles of inclusive climate, advancement opportunity, and power distribution, while also assessing the moderating role of leadership inclusiveness. A quantitative explanatory design was employed. The population consisted of employees working in medium and large organizations in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Brunei. A proportional stratified sampling technique was used to represent multiple sectors, resulting in a final sample of 612 respondents. Data were collected over a three-month period through structured questionnaires administered both onsite and online. Structural equation modeling was used to test the proposed framework. The results show that diversity management competency improves firm performance both directly and through the three mediating mechanisms. An inclusive climate encourages open participation, advancement opportunity strengthens motivation and retention, and equitable power distribution enhances trust and collaboration. Leadership inclusiveness further amplifies these relationships by shaping perceptions of fairness and shared influence across diverse groups. This study provides significant implications for organizational leaders and policymakers in Southeast Asia. Building strong diversity management competencies, supported by inclusive climates and equitable structures, can improve employee contributions, strengthen collective resilience, and enhance long-term firm performance.

2026Jurnal Aplikasi Manajemen0 citations Open access

This study is urgent given the importance of effective marketing strategies amid intense competition among higher education institutions, especially in the post-pandemic era, which increasingly depends on customer involvement to succeed. This journal aims to provide empirical evidence and analyze and explain how the moderating role of customer involvement, or customer engagement, affects purchase intentions and purchase decisions at Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Ciputra Makassar. This study uses the Slovin formula and proportionate random sampling, with 262 respondents, including current and prospective students at Ciputra School of Business Makassar. This study tests all hypotheses using SEM-PLS (version 4.0). The results indicate that customer engagement strengthens the relationship between purchase intentions and purchase decisions, whereas event marketing and sales promotion do not significantly affect purchase intentions. The results imply that higher educational institutions should focus more on strategies that increase customer engagement to optimize purchase decisions, thereby increasing competitiveness and institutional continuity. This study finds that customer engagement plays a vital role in moderating the influence of purchase intention on purchase decisions. In the long term, customer engagement activities in marketing at UC Makassar are expected to further strengthen the influence of prospective students’ interest, once accepted, in making payments at UC Makassar.

2026Jurnal Aplikasi Manajemen0 citations Open access

Indonesian TikTok Shop users exhibit an abandonment rate of 84.8%, despite their high engagement, indicating that cart abandonment is a critical conversion barrier in live-streaming social commerce. With Indonesia's social commerce market anticipated to attain USD 22 billion by 2028, it is imperative to comprehend the factors contributing to incomplete purchases. Previous studies have neglected the relationship between cognitive overload, indecision, and streamer engagement. This study seeks to investigate the impact of choice overload on cart abandonment via consumer indecision and to evaluate the moderating effect of streamer performance on these dynamics. This study utilized a quantitative explanatory methodology through a survey technique. The demographic comprised Generation Z and Generation Y consumers engaging in TikTok Shop live-streaming commerce in Indonesia. A total of 215 respondents were chosen via purposive sampling. Data were gathered through an online questionnaire and analyzed with Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings demonstrate that choice overload favorably affects hesitancy, hence considerably elevating cart abandonment rates. Hesitation to checkout completely mediates the connection between choice overload and cart abandonment, whereas streamer performance moderates the influence of both on cart abandonment. These findings enhance S-O-R theory by identifying hesitation to checkout as a complete mediator and streamer performance as a contextual moderator, offering practical implications for platforms and sellers to mitigate desertion through assortment simplification and streamer enhancement.

2026Jurnal Aplikasi Manajemen0 citations Open access

Single-use plastic packaging is a serious environmental problem because it is difficult to break down and contributes to pollution. Lontar packaging is widely used in the city of Kupang, Indonesia, and has the potential to be a more sustainable alternative. However, consumers may not be prepared to pay a premium for products packaged with lontar unless they trust the packaging's environmental benefits. The study investigated the impact of perceived green packaging and eco-literacy on consumer readiness to pay a premium for lontar-packaged products through green trust. It also investigated whether these interactions differed between male and female consumers. The method employed is a quantitative survey of 200 consumers who have purchased or used products with lontar packaging. The data were examined using partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). Results indicate that perceived green packaging does not directly improve willingness to pay. However, perceived green packaging has a considerable positive effect on green trust, and green trust positively influences willingness to pay. Also, Eco-literacy is positively associated with green trust and willingness to pay. The multi-group study demonstrates that gender moderates the impact of perceived green packaging and eco-literacy on willingness to pay, and the effects are larger for male consumers. These results imply that firms should not only promote the environmental friendliness of lontar packaging but also provide clear information regarding the quality, safety, cleanliness, and environmental benefits of lontar packaging. This can increase consumer confidence and facilitate acceptance of premium costs.

The growing urgency to reduce plastic waste and promote sustainable consumption has increased the relevance of eco-bags, particularly among Generation Z consumers who are increasingly aware of environmental issues and responsive to green lifestyle trends. This study aims to examine the factors influencing Generation Z’s green purchase behavior toward eco-bags by analyzing the effects of green product attributes, subjective norms, and green brand image, with the mediating roles of green perceived value and green trust and the moderating role of environmental knowledge. Using a quantitative explanatory approach, data were collected through an online survey of 300 Generation Z consumers aged 18-27 in Tangerang Raya, Indonesia, using purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings indicate that green product attributes, subjective norms, and green brand image significantly influence green perceived value, which subsequently strengthens green trust and encourages green purchase behavior. Environmental knowledge demonstrates a moderating role in several relationships, indicating that consumers with higher environmental awareness interpret sustainability cues more critically. These findings highlight the importance of credible green product attributes, authentic green branding, and social influence in encouraging sustainable purchasing behavior among younger consumers.

  9. Analysis of Bankers' Perceptions About Smart Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Algorithms (STARA)

Dediek Tri Kurniawan, Yesiana Ihda Kusnayain, Syaiful

2026Jurnal Aplikasi Manajemen0 citations Open access

The rapid advancement of world technology has had a significant impact on all sectors of work, one of which is banking. From the employee side, technological advances have the potential to take over their jobs in the future. This study aims to investigate the relationship between STARA (Smart Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Algorithms) awareness and job insecurity, as well as job outcomes (job satisfaction and organizational commitment) among banking employees. Data were collected from 171 employees of a state-owned bank in Pekanbaru City, Indonesia. The findings prove the influence of STARA awareness on job insecurity and organizational commitment. Interestingly, STARA awareness in this study was found to affect job satisfaction positively. STARA awareness has been found to increase employees' job satisfaction. However, this study did not confirm a significant effect of STARA awareness on organizational commitment, nor did it support the moderating role of expectation retraining in the relationship between STARA awareness and job insecurity. These results indicate that new technologies are not only considered a threat to job reduction. The implementation of new technologies in banking has introduced roles such as AI data scientists, AI analysts, and robotic process automation specialists. Therefore, companies need to design strategies to prepare employees for changes in the business environment, including mastery of new fields or technologies.

2026Jurnal Aplikasi Manajemen0 citations Open access

The Indonesian batik industry faces increasing pressure from rapid fashion cycles, digital market transformation, and intensified competition, requiring MSMEs to strengthen market responsiveness while preserving cultural identity. This study examines the effects of Market Orientation, Agile Aesthetic Innovation, and Dynamic Adaptive Capability on Business Performance and tests whether Dynamic Adaptive Capability mediates the relationships between strategic capabilities and performance. A quantitative explanatory design was applied to 220 owners and managers of batik MSMEs in Pekalongan, Solo, Lasem, Madura, and Sidoarjo. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed with Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling using SmartPLS 3. The findings show that Agile Aesthetic Innovation is the strongest direct driver of Business Performance, followed by Market Orientation and Dynamic Adaptive Capability. Agile Aesthetic Innovation also positively influences Dynamic Adaptive Capability, whereas Market Orientation does not significantly affect it. The mediation test indicates that Dynamic Adaptive Capability does not significantly mediate the relationships between Market Orientation, Agile Aesthetic Innovation, and Business Performance. These findings suggest that batik MSMEs improve performance mainly through direct market-oriented decisions, rapid aesthetic renewal, and adaptive capability. This study contributes by introducing Agile Aesthetic Innovation as a context-specific capability for culture-based creative MSMEs.
