In manufacturing systems, there are several essential tasks to perform before and after the production process. In traditional systems, these tasks were done manually, which can lead to more resource consumption and the risk of human error; however, advanced manufacturing systems and Industry 4.0 tend toward a more autonomous manner. To ensure the compliance of the machining process and the safety of the personnel as well as the machines at the shop floor, the inspection of the overall factory prior to any machining process and the control of conformity of the manufactured parts are necessary in order to know the status of the manufacturing line. This paper proposes a novel modular smart vision system for machine inspection and conformity control of machined parts. Our system uses smart vision technologies embedded in industrial robots and enhanced with image processing and analysis capabilities. The solution also integrates a user interface for human–machine interactions that has been developed with a modular approach, and is designed, launched, and controlled by the manufacturing execution system, allowing agile and customized configuration. By this new approach, the robot inspects all the machines in the factory to check the status before launching the production plan. After the machining process, the system interprets the in situ dimensional analysis for the machined parts and makes decisions about whether the parts are acceptable or require additional machining

The purpose of this paper is to determine the influence of the factors of industrial and manufacturing engineering on quality of services that are provided in digital legal proceedings of the Asia-Pacific region, based onе Big Data, blockchain, and AI. The authors model the influence of the factors of industrial and manufacturing engineering on quality of legal proceedings in countries of the Asia-Pacific region with the help of correlation analysis. Simplex method is used for determining the optimal influence of the factors of industrial and manufacturing engineering on quality of legal proceedings in countries of the Asia-Pacific region. It is determined that the potential of increase of quality of services of digital legal proceedings based on managing the factors of industrial and manufacturing engineering is more vivid in developing countries (33.55%) than in developed countries (9.36%). The authors reflect a new view on the prospects of development of legal proceedings – from the position of consumers’ interests’ protection, emphasizing on quality of the provided public services. Due to this, a new, alternative approach to state management of development of the legal proceedings system is developed; instead of increase of regulation, it envisages de-regulation and marketization of legal proceedings. An original approach to managing the quality of services of digital legal proceedings is offered, which is based on managing the factors of industrial and manufacturing engineering.

This article describes a new approach to simultaneous optimization of design and maintenance of large-scale multi-component industrial systems. This approach, in a form of an algorithm, aims to help designers in the search for solutions by characterizing the components and their architecture including maintenance issues. The aim is to improve the performance of the industrial systems by maximizing the Total Operational Reliability (TOR) at the lowest Life Cycle Cost (LCC). In the case of this research, the term "design" refers to the reliability properties of the components, possible redundancies, faulty component accessibility, and the ability to improve the component real-time monitoring architecture. The term “maintenance” refers to maintenance plan adapted to the opportunistic dynamic maintenance plan. Simultaneous optimization of design and maintenance is achieved by a two-level hybrid algorithm using evolutionary (genetic) algorithms. The first level identifies the optimal design solutions calculated relative to the TOR and the LCC. The second proposes a dynamic maintenance plan that maximizes the reliability of the system throughout its operating life

Additive manufacturing enables rapid and cost-effective production of prototypes and final products, with Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) being widely used due to its accessibility and low material costs. This study addresses a key research gap by analyzing the mechanical and thermal properties of 100% recycled ABS printed using an open-source FDM 3D printer. Unlike prior research focusing on blended materials or reinforcement techniques, this study evaluates the standalone performance of recycled ABS, offering insights into its viability for sustainable manufacturing. Recycled ABS filament was produced through mechanical recycling and used to fabricate test samples. Microstructural analysis of fractured samples in X, Y, and Z orientations revealed voids and pores in recycled ABS, while standard ABS exhibited air bubbles in specific orientations. Impact testing per ASTM D256 showed that recycled ABS had an impact strength of 154.67 J/m, significantly lower than the 383.31 J/m of standard ABS. Differential Scanning Calorimetry analysis indicated a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 100.14°C for recycled ABS, compared to 104.97°C for standard ABS, demonstrating relative thermal stability. While 100% recycled ABS exhibits reduced mechanical properties and impact strength, its thermal performance remains stable. This study comprehensively evaluates recycled ABS filament for FDM printing, highlighting its potential for sustainable manufacturing by minimizing material waste. The findings contribute valuable data on the feasibility of upcycling polymer waste for functional 3D-printed products, offering insights into the challenges and opportunities of integrating recycled ABS in green additive manufacturing.

With the growing importance of wearable and portable electronics in modern society and industry, researchers from all over the world have reported on advances in energy harvesting and self-powered sensing technologies. The current review discusses recent developments in triboelectric platforms from a manufacturing perspective, including material, design, application, and industrialization. Manufacturing is an essential component of both industry and technology. The use of a proper manufacturing process enables cutting-edge technology in a lab-scale stage to progress to commercialization and popularization with scalability, availability, commercial advantage, and consistent quality. Furthermore, much literature has emphasized that the most powerful advantage of the triboelectric platform is its wide range of available materials and simple working mechanism, both of which are important characteristics in manufacturing engineering. As a result, different manufacturing processes can be implemented as needed. Because the practical process can have a synergetic effect on the fundamental development, resulting in the growth of both, the development of the triboelectric platform from the standpoint of manufacturing engineering can be further advanced. However, research into the development of a productive manufacturing process is still in its early stages in the field of triboelectric platforms. This review looks at the various manufacturing technologies used in previous studies and discusses the potential benefits of the appropriate process for triboelectric platforms. Given its unique strength, which includes a diverse material selection and a simple working mechanism, the triboelectric platform can use a variety of manufacturing technologies and the process can be optimized as needed. Numerous research groups have clearly demonstrated the triboelectric platform’s advantages. As a result, using appropriate manufacturing processes can accelerate the technological advancement of triboelectric platforms in a variety of research and industrial fields by allowing them to move beyond the lab-scale fabrication stage.
