Abstract
The term “sprawl” was first used in the USA in 1937 by Earle Draper (Black 1996). The concept has come to represent contemporary urbanization, which is characterized by the unrestrained growth of metropolitan cities into nearby rural areas ( Li et al. 2016 ). The well-being and quality of life of people are notably impacted by this complex interplay of urban and rural dynamics’ potential and problems ( Berdegué and Soloaga 2018 ). Urbanization is gradually spreading into “rurban” communities, which exemplify a beautiful fusion of rural peace with urban dynamics, instead of only typical urban centers ( Dadhich and Hanaoka 2011 ). The worldwide geography of human habitation is changing as a result of this transformative process.
