Postcolonial Studies

This chapter introduces the field of Postcolonial Studies. It starts with two versions of the historical background on this theory—the first version provides a historical overview of the discipline, and the second version discusses postcolonial theory to modernity. The chapter then moves to describe its main theorists and their wok. It concludes with an analysis of Derek Walcott&s;s poem and Jamaica Kincaid&s;s short story to show how Postcolonial Studies could be used to interpret literature.
