Abstract
There are 134 species and sub-species of mosquitoes in Pakistan, of which 24 nominal taxa are reportedly described from present-day Pakistan. Many mosquito-borne diseases are rampant in Pakistan, such as malaria, dengue, chikungunya, West Nile, and Japanese encephalitis, which together exact a huge toll of human lives annually.
